Early Phonics
Jolly Phonics - Phase 1
s, a, t, i, p, n
I wanted to start teaching Jolly Phonics to those in my care but in a fun way,
so I used a tray full of coloured rice as a base to start the fun learning,
then printed off the letter S in different texts and laminated them.
I also printed and laminated pictures of things which began with the "S" sound too
and hid them amongst the rice, as the children explored the rice
they soon discovered the pictures and letters and were asking "what's this?".
With the help of Jolly Phonics we used the "S" sound and actions to then say
the names of the pictures which were discovered too.
