We spent the morning at the "New forest museum", There was a interactive tree with flaps to open and see who lives inside. This then inspired me to have some messy fun with bugs and "worms".
So I cooked up some spaghetti added some black food colouring and some other toy bugs.
The children were not too keen to touch the "worms" after seeing how black my fingers went from touching it so I gave them a set of tongs and a spaghetti spoon, they then worked together to pick up and hunt for bugs using the tools.
Eventually they were using their hands to get a real free and sensory experience as well as sticking the spaghetti to different body parts.
Overall great fun!

- Hi I'm Louise and I've been working with children for over 8 years! Having working in a private day nursery for 6years and now currently working as a Nanny for two families per week. I have been a Nanny since September 2010. I love being able to provide the children in my care a range of different play based activities which they may otherwise never get to experience . I also try to ensure that whilst having fun they're learning important skills to help promote their development and life skills.
