Hi I'm Louise and I've been working with children for over 8 years! Having working in a private day nursery for 6years and now currently working as a Nanny for two families per week. I have been a Nanny since September 2010. I love being able to provide the children in my care a range of different play based activities which they may otherwise never get to experience . I also try to ensure that whilst having fun they're learning important skills to help promote their development and life skills.

Mark making in mash potato flakes

Cover a tray with a thin layer of mash potato flakes (instant mash/smash) add a variety of different tools to mark make with. 
We used different brushes, feathers, lolly sticks and golf tees each tool will create different types of marks in the mash potato flakes. 
Perfect activity to encourage young children with their pre-writing marks and creativity over and over again. 

For older children you could also write letters or numbers in and get the child to read them to you for a number and letter recognition activity
